   VIOLET M. BEATTY, Vandergrift
       Violet M. Beatty, 83, of 159 Lincoln Ave., Vandergrift, died Thursday 
  (Jan. 17, 1991) in her home.  She was born April 5, 1907 in Kaylor.  Mrs. 
  Beatty was a member of the Church of God in Vandergrift.
       Surviving are her husband, R. Oscar Beatty, two sons, Robert Hick of 
  Kiski Township and Francis L. Hick of Bradenton, Fla; two daughters, Mrs. 
  Zolton (Lorraine) Adam of Great Mill, Md., and Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Legarsky of 
  Kiski Township; a stepson, Eugene Beatty of Titusville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, 
  Evelyn Horneman of Tarentum; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Garnet) Pagliarulo of 
  Hershey; a grandchild, 11 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 
  her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Caldwell and a son Samuel Hick, Jr.
       Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Dunmire-
  Kerr Funeral Home, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be 
  conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Gale Winning.  Burial will be in 
  Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.  The family suggests memorial contributions be 
  made to the Leukemia Society.
