    Gladys L. Beatty, formerly of Apollo   Gladys Leone Beatty, 85, of Indiana, 
  Pa., formerly of Apollo, died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2001) in St. Andrew Village, 
  Indiana, where she lived the past four years.  Born April 6, 1915, in 
  Earlville, Ill., she lived 77 years in Bell and Apollo.  Along with the Beatty 
  family, she was owner and operator of Beatty Grocery Store in the Salina 
  section of Bell.  Miss Beatty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in 
  Apollo and a life member of Bell Township Grange, where she was secretary for 
  many years.  Survivors include a number of cousins.   She was preceded in 
  death by her parents, Thomas B. and Sarah A. Wilson Beatty; a brother, Guy 
  Beatty, in infancy; and a sister, Thelma Beatty.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the CURRAN-
  SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 100 Owens Drive, Apollo, where services will be at 
  10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. John Helgeson will officiate. Burial will follow in 
  Glade Run Cemetery, Wayne.
