DWIGHT M. BEATTY Dwight M. Beatty, 88, of Cranberry Township, formerly of
Avonmore, died Monday Sept. 7, 1998 at Allegheny General Hospital,
Pittsburgh. Born in Dayton, Armstrong County on Jan. 26, 1910, he was the son
of McCurdy and Estella (Wilson) Beatty. He was a self-employed mechanic in
Avonmore for 17 years.
Mr. Beatty and his wife served as director of the youth group at Salina
Evangelical Church. He had been a member and elder at various Presbyterian,
Christian and Missionary Alliance and United Church of Christ churches. He
also belonged to the Avonmore Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Ida E. (Himes) Beatty, whom he married Jan. 29,
1935; two daughters, Margaret Stauffer of Cranberry Township and Garnet Holmes
of Pensacola, Fla; two sons, William Beatty of Omaha, Neb., and Kenneth Beatty
of Kingman, Ariz.; a brother Clair Beatty of Monroe, Ohio; 12 grandchildren;
and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three
brothers.
BEATTY - Friends of Dwight M. Beatty, who died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998,
will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Glenn-Kildoo Funeral
Home, 219 Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at
the funeral home. Burial will be at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
Memorial donations may be made to Dorseyville Alliance Church, 521A Saxonburg
Blvd., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15238.
