CHARLES M. BEATTY, Washington Township Charles Marlin Beatty, 82, of 650
Route 380 East, Washington township, died Thursday in his home. Born May 9,
1909, in Dayton, he lived in Washington Township most of his life. He was a
heat treater at Wean United in Vandergrift where he worked for 45 years until
retiring in 1970. Mr. Beatty was a member of Poke Run Presbyterian Church,
Washington Township. He was a member of Bell Grange, and Kiskiminetas Lodge
in Vandergrift.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Helen Leona Wolford Beatty; two
daughters, Mrs. George (Susan) Mullett of Lake Latonka, and Mrs. Jack
(Patricia) Marie Westwood of Waynesburg; three grandchildren; one great-
grandchildren; and a sister, LaWave Barber of Slippery Rock. Mr. Beatty was
preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Hulda Williams Beatty; his
stepmother, Dorcas Wolford Beatty; and a sister.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Curran Funeral
Home, Inc., 322 N. Second St., Apollo. Funeral services will be conducted
Saturday at 10 a.m. in Poke Run Presbyterian Church by pastor, the Rev. Wayne
Blaser. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Kiski Township. Masonic
services will be conducted this evening at 7:30 in the funeral home.
