John Blose
John G. "JB" Blose, 72, Bonita
Springs, Fla., formerly of Indiana
RD 5, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at
his home in Florida.
Born on Nov. 8, 1925, in Dayton,
Pa., he was the son of James and
Lucinda Halfman Blose.
He was employed by the Brayman
Construction Corp. for 41 years as
general superintendent of bridge
construction until his retirement in
1988.
He was the co-founder of Rural
Construction and 422 Home Sales
where he retired as president of both
firms.
Mr. Blose was a member of the St.
Bernard of Clairvaux Church of
Indiana.
He belonged to the Knights of
Columbus Council 1481 of Indiana
where he was a 4th Degree member.
He was a member of the Indiana
Country Club; the Pelicans' Nest
Country Club and the BPO Elks
Lodge, both of Bonita Springs; the
APOA, the Veterans of Foreign
Wars of Freeport, Pa.; the LSM-
SMR and Carpenters Union of Pitts-
burgh. He was a retired member of
the Contractors' Association.
Mr. Blose was a veteran of World
War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as a
2nd Class Signalman.
He is survived by his wife, Cather-
ine D. Ferra Blose; two daughters,
Mrs. William (Lucinda) Hughes,
Indiana RD 5, and Mrs. Paul (Car-
mella D.) Sherry III, Indiana RD 5;
four grandsons, William D. and John
G. Hughes; Paul IV and Vincient
Sherry; five great-grandchildren,
Ciara J. and Hunter W. Hughes;
Paul V. Chanell and Taylor J. Sher-
ry; three sisters, Mrs. James (Pau-
line) Hosey, Rimersburg; Mrs. John
(Beulah) Lair, Fort Lauderdale,
Fla.; and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Per-
ry, Punxsutawney; and two broth-
ers, Stanley Blose and Jack Blose,
and his wife Maxine, all of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; one sister, Florence Stone-
braker, and five brothers, Kenneth,
William, Robert, James and Clifford
Blose.
Friends will be received from 7-9
p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Friday at the Bowser-Minich Funer-
al Home in Indiana where a parish
vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
Friday with the Father McNeilis K
of C Council 1481 participating. A
funeral mass will be celebrated at 10
a.m. Saturday at the St. Bernard
Church in Indiana. Graveside mili-
tary honors will be provided at the
St. Bernard Cemetery by Post 1989
of the Indiana VFW.
