MARGUERITE D. "PEGGY' BENCE 59, of 202 E. Cherry St., Palmyra, formerly of

Indiana, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1988, at her residence.



The daughter of the Rev. Dr. Arthur J. and Marguerite Wanner Pfohl, she was

born Sept. 14, 1929 in Buffalo, NY.



Mrs. Bence was a member of the Reading School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She was a retired nurse and former employee of the Indiana Hospital.



Surviving are her husband, Logan G. Bence, two sons, Arthur L.,

Philadelphia; Thomas P., Lebanon; one daughter, Nancy J. Stephens, Palmyra;

and two grandchildren.



There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 Saturday

at the Buse Funeral Home, Palmyra, with the Rev. Dr. David P. Birch

officiating. Interment will be at the family's convenience.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana.
