DEATH OF MR. JACOB F. BENCE



Sept. 11, 1923



Prominent Countian Dies After Long Illness-



Jacob F. Bence, son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Rinn Bence, died at his

home near Bethel Lutheran Church Sunday morning of cancer of the stomach.

Mr. Bence who was aged 70 years was born and reared on the farm on which he

died, having lived there his entire life with the exception of a year in

Johnstown and community. Besides Emma Lydic Bence, his widow, he leaves one

son, Emery D. Bence and four grandchildren. He also leaves these brothers

and sisters: James Bence and Mrs. Martha Lightcap of Marion Center, John D.

Bence of Indiana and Mrs. Mary C. Boucher of Beaverdale. Another sister,

Mrs. Margaret Short, died a number of years ago.



Mr. Bence was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, where the funeral

services will be conducted by his pastor, Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock.

Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
