MRS. ANNA ELIZA BENCE



Mrs. Anna Eliza Bence, wife of Samuel Bence, died at the home of her

daughter, Mrs. J.S. Lightcap, west of town, Wednesday morning about 4 o'

clock, of ailments incident to old age, she being 90 years, 8 month and 29

days old. The deceased was born in Germany and came to the country with her

parents when 13 years old. She joined the Lutheran church while in Germany

and lived a consistent Christian life all her days. Mr. and Mrs. Bence spent

nearly all of their married life on their farm in Rayne Township near Bethel

church, but for some time have lived with their daughter, where she died.

Besides her aged husband, she is survived by three sons and two daughters:

James, John and Jacob Bence, of Rayne Township; Mrs. Samuel Boucher, now of

Beaverdale; and Mrs. J.S.Lightcap. Interment was made at Bethel church

Thursday forenoon, Rev. Stover conducting the services.
