Peter Basciano
Peter D. Basciano, 79, of 43 Center
St., Homer City, died Friday, Nov.
14, 1997, in Indiana Hospital.
The son of Rocco and Rose Basci-
ano, he was born June 18, 1918, in
Derry.
Mr. Basciano was a member of St.
Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lu-
cernemines; life member of VFW
Post 1989, Indiana; American Le-
gion Post 493, Homer City; BPOE
Ellrs Lodge 931, Indiana; Athletic
Booster Club, Homer City; and the
Homer City Borough Council for
many years. He was self-employed
in plumbing and heating, a World
War II veteran having served in the
U.S. Army, and was active in Habi-
tat for Humanity.
Surviving are daughter-in-law
Linda Basciano, Harrisburg; three
grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin and
Kelb; one sister, Lillian, wife of
Paul Kolman, Derry; friend Peg
Kenney, Latrobe.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, wife Josephine V. Basci-
ano; son Richard Basciano; four
brothers, Domenick, Anthony, Phil-
lip and Nicholas.
Funeral arrangements are incom-
plete and will appear in Sunday's
Indiana Gazette. The C. Fredrick
Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., Homer
City., is in charge of arrangements.
A Tree will be planted in living memory
for Peter Basciano.
