FISCHER, Pvt. George W.; 1944
 
 
          FISCHER, Pvt. GEORGE W., killed in France on July 20, 1944,
      at Blosville, husband of ERNESTINE FISCHER of Media. He became 
      a resident of Media at age two years, born in Chester. His body was
      returned on the steamship JOHN L. McCARLERY. Graduated from 
      Media High School.
          He was inducted into the ARMY on May 10, 1943. He is
      survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. MARY FISCHER, of Media,
      and two sisters, Mrs. HELEN Thwainlkill (sp? Thrailkill) of Downingtown, 
      and Mrs. MILDRED VanLEER of Media. Memorial services SMITH
      HOWARD POST # 93 AMERICAN LEGION. Buried Media Cemetery.
