                    DEATH OF MARGARET BATIPPS

            Christmas night at eleven o'clock MARGARET, wife of
        REV. WILLIAM BATIPPS, died at her home in South Media,
        after an illness of four weeks. The deceased was a life-long
        resident. She was a daughter of the late GEORGE and
        ELIZABETH NICKSON. She was an active member of 
        Trinity Union A. M. E. Church, of the Mite Society of the
        church; Martha's Tent; Lady Masons, St. Luke's Lodge. 
        She is survived by the following children: Mrs. ELIZABETH
        SEENEY, Mrs. MARY SAUNDERS, Mrs. GEORGEANNA
        BROOKS, Mrs. BERTHA JOHNSON, WILLIAM BATIPPS, Jr.,
        THOMAS BATIPPS, PERCY O. BATIPPS AND SAMUEL
        BATIPPS; one brother, JOHN NICKSON, of Philadelphia,
        and two half brothers, GEORGE and ALEXANDER SULLIVAN.
            The funeral will be held Saturday morning at eleven
        o'clock from Trinity Union A. M. E. Church on North Olive
        street. Rev. H. THOMAS RYDER will be in charge of the
        service. Interment will be made at Lima.
