                            BATIPPS

            Mrs. BESSIE BATIPPS, 88, of 1309 Peterson St.,
        Chester Township, died Thursday in Crozer-Chester
        Medical Center, Upland.
            A lifelong Delaware County resident, Mrs. BATIPPS,
        the widow of WILL BATIPPS, was born in the Elwyn
        section of Middletown and lived in Media before moving
        to Chester Township.
            She is survived by a son, CLARENCE BATIPPS of
        Chester, and two daughter, Mrs. EVA YOUNG of
        Media and Mrs. ELIZABETH COLEMAN of Chester.
            Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shorter AME
        Church, 111 Pennington Ave., Morton. Burial will be
        10 a.m. Wednesday in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett
        Square, Chester County.
            Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
        Church.
