Kishpaugh - Marsden - February 6, 1889 (probably at London, England)
"Won by a Photograph. - Rev. H. C. Kishpaugh, of the Detroit M. E.
Conference, now visiting friends in the upper end of Warren county with his
bride, tells the Blairstown Press the story of his romantic courtship and
marriage. While still a resident of Blairstown and attending a theological
school at Baltimore, a friend showed him the picture of a young lady living in
London the daughter of Rev. Mr. Marsden, President of Wesleyan connection. It
was an effective arrow in Cupid's bow that struck the susceptible young
Blairstown follower of John Wesley with irresistible force. He begged an
introduction, which was had by letter, and a correspondence sprang up between
the two, and an exchange of photographs, which ended in an engagement of
marriage. Last June the young man graduated, and November found him installed
over a church at Outonago, Michigan, and a member of the Detroit Conference.
Late in January he sailed for England to claim as wife the girl he had never
seen, and on February 6 they were married. His Warren county friends who have
met the bride describe her as a charming and accomplished woman."

Keller-Freas - "Miss Verde Gere Freas, a Prominent Young Lady of Berwick is
Married to C. B. Keller, Jr., of Stroudsburg.
Berwick Independent:
A large company assembled in the M. E. church on Thursday afternoon to witness
the marriage of Miss Verde Gere FREAS to Mr. C. B. KELLER, Jr., of Stroudsburg,
Pa.
Promptly at one o'clock and to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march
rendered on the new pipe organ by Prof. E. K. RICHARDSON, the bride attired in
traveling suit marched up the left aisle of the church leaning on the arm of
her father, Mr. H. C. FREAS, while the groom, attended by his brother, D. H. M.
KELLER, superintendent and surgeon-in-chief of the new State Hospital, Hazleton,
entered by the right aisle and met them at the Chancel, where the ceremony was
performed by Rev. Alfred S. BOWMAN, uncle of the bride and pastor of the M. E.
church of Shickshinny, assisted by the Rev. S. G. GROVE, pastor of the M. E.
church of Stroudsburg, and the Rev. Richard HINKLE, pastor of the M. E. Church
of Berwick. The beautiful Methodist marriage service was used with a ring.
The ushers were Mr. D. C. CARTER, editor of the Blairstown (N.J.) Press; W. A.
ERDMAN, Esq., of Stroudsburg; Mr. Frank IRWIN and Mr. W. E. KELLER of
Philadelphia. There were no bridesmaids. Growing plants and flowers were
massed about the Chancel and arranged very tastefully. Above was suspended a
horse shoe of white flowers.
At the close of the ceremony the bridal party left the church by the center
aisle and were driven to the home of the bride on Front street, where a
reception was held and hearty congratulations and well wishes showered upon the
newly married couple. There was a rich and elegant collection of wedding
presents sent them by admiring friends.

South, spending the time in Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Old Point Comfort,
Va. Upon their return a large reception will be tendered them by the groom's
parents in Stroudsburg. They will then take up their residence for the winter
at the Burnett House in that town.
