Hammond, Aretta Howard-79, of Salyersville, Died Monday 
in St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. 

Mrs. Hammond was born April 27, 1922, in Magoffin County, 
a daughter of the late Grover and Beatrice Arnett Howard.  

She was a member of Salyersville Christian Church. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, John Hammond; 
and a stepson, Conrad Hammond. Surviving are a son, Gary 
Hammond of Salyersville; a stepson Albert Hammond of Salyersville; 
a daughter, Brenda Conley f Salyersville; three sisters, Lucille Meadows 
of Rich Creek, Va., Alberta Trusty of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Claudine 
Gardner of Xenia, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Magoffin County Funeral 
Home by Jim Hughes. Burial will be in Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville. 
Friends May call after 6 p.m. today and anytime Thursday at the funeral home.
