Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Adams, 84, of Island Creek near 
Pikeville, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Regular Baptist Church at 
Island Creek.

The Rev. Whipple Reynolds, Rev. Milford Adams and others officiated. 
Burial followed in the Sword Cemetery on Island Creek under direction of 
the J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home.

She died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital, 
Unit One, after a long illness. Born in Magoffin County, she was a 
daughter of Ed Adams and Martha Jackson Adams. She was the widow of Bob Adams. 
She was a member of the Regular Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Frank Adams, of Route Three, Pikeville; three 
daughters, Mrs. Della Swiney, Mrs. Julia Ray and Mrs. Docie Howell, all 
of Route Three, Pikeville; a brother, John Adams, of Ashland; a sister, 
Mrs. Dove Sillman, of Huntington, W. Va.; 42 grandchildren and several 
great-grandchildren.
