CATHARINE HIGGS was born in Washington County, Maryland, March llth, 
l833.  Died in Decatur County, April 2lst, l895, aged 62 years, l month 
and l0 days.  In l855 she moved to Logan County, Illinois, and in l856 
married JOHN WEABLE; to them were born 5 children, all still living. 
In June, l869, they moved to Decatur County, Iowa and have ever since 
lived on the place they first bought. 

MRS. WEABLE joined the M.E. Church in her youth and died in hope of 
Heaven.  MRS. WEABLE was a dutiful wife, and a kind and loving mother, 
and obliging neighbor.  Memorial services were conducted by Rev. 
Mitchell at the Union Church in Davis City, April 23rd, at 2:30 p.m. in 
the presence of a sympathizing audience.  After the service the remains 
were laid in the cemetery at Davis City to wait the resurrection.  The 
bereaved have the sympathy of the community.
