FAMILY QUESTIONS CARE OF INMATE WHO DIED

Obituary: Troy Stinson, 20, died Wednesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital. 
An autopsy was to be performed yesterday, but the results were not available. 
Tarry McPherson, Stinson's aunt, said she was concerned with the care 
he received at the jail.
"It's hard to believe that a healthy boy could walk into a jail and 
now is dead," McPherson said.
But Dr. L.E. Benham, the Lawrence County coroner and jail doctor, 
speculated that a history of drug and alcohol abuse contributed to Stinson's death.
Stinson was sentenced to 22 days in jail for missing a court-ordered 
substance-abuse class after an Aug. 2 public-intoxication conviction.
