OBITUARY OF DR. EDWARD LEO CALLAHAN
May 12, 1991
Dr. Edward Leo Callahan, 57, died Friday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a pathologist and former president of the medical staff at SS. Mary &
Elizabeth Hospital, former chief pathologist for the U. S. Public Health
Service Hospital in Gallup, N. M., and a member and past president of the
Kentucky Society of Pathologists. He was a member of the American Society of
Clinical Pathologists, American Medical Association, Jefferson County
Medical Society, College of American Pathologists, Louisville Boat Club and
a former member of the board of Discover Louisville Orchestra.
Survivors: his wife, the former Nancye Oehrle; three sons, Christopher
Callahan of Kyoto, Japan, Courtney Callahan and Hill Harcourt; his mother,
Mary Callahan; and a sister, Mary Lee Gebhart of Wichita, Kan.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 6710
Wolf Pen Branch Road. Burial will be private.
Visitation: Pearson's, 149 Breckinridge Lane, 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial gifts: Louisville Orchestra or the memorial fund of the church.
