Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Thurs 2 May 1912:  
"Patrick J. Burns, age 62, died at his home in Midland yesterday at 4:25 
a.m.  He was a native of Erdrie, {sic-Airdrie} Scotland.  He came to this 
country about thirty years ago, and married Miss Bridget Kenney, twenty-two 
years ago.  She survives him as does also his sons: Simon, Harry, Frank, 
Thos., Luke and Manning, and his daughters, Misses Helen, Margaret, Mary 
and Sarah.  He was a janitor of the Midland public school for four years, 
and was not absent a single day in that time.  He was a member of Division 
No. {unreadalbe} A. O. H. The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. with a 
reqiuem mass at St. Joseph's church and interment in the Catholic church 
cemetery at Midland."
