Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland 24 Apr 1909: 
"Aged Lady Dead at Barton--Mrs. Phoebe Bradley, aged about 84 
years, died last night at 10 o'clock at her home in Barton.  
The deceased was the widow of the late Joseph Bradley, and had 
been ill for a long time.  She is survived by five sons and two 
daughters, as follows: Joseph, Samuel, Benjamin, John and Mrs. 
Leonard {sic-Leander) Foye, all of Barton, and Mrs. James 
Carmack, of Pittsburg."

The Cumberland Times, Cumberland, Maryland 27 Apr 1909: 
"The pallbearers at the funeral of Mrs. Phoebe Bradley, in Barton, 
Sunday afternoon were: William Russell, Henry and Ernest Creutzberg, 
Theophilus George, August Frenzel and James McDonald. It was a large 
funeral and fully 25 carriages were filled with the relatives of the 
deceased. Rev. William Anthony of the Barton M.E. Church conducted 
funeral services at the house, assisted by his choir. Interment was 
made in Laurel Hill."
