  Obituary - Punxsutawney

  FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIED IN DUBOIS FRIDAY 

  Mrs. Frank Simpson, Nee Laura Varner, succumbed at Age of 72 Years
  Mrs. Laura Simpson, wife of Frank B. Simpson, of DuBois, formerly of this city, 
  died at her home there last night after a long illness at the age of 72 years.
  
  The deceased was born near Big Run, her maiden name being Laura Varner, and was 
  united in marriage to Frank Simpson 56 years ago. They moved to Punxsutawney 
  about 26 years ago, where they resided until eight years ago, when they moved 
  to DuBois.  She was an exceptionally kindly woman, a loving mother, and was 
  held in high esteem both in this city and DuBois.
  
  She is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters:
  Bert, of Jersey Shore, Mrs. Emmet Clark, of DuBois, Mrs. Charles Murray, of 
  near Troutville, Russell and Harry of DuBois, and Mrs. Ira R. McGee, of 
  Punxsutawney.  A sister, Mrs. Jennie Caldwell, of this city, and a brother, 
  Clint Varner, of Lafayette, Colorado, also survive. 
  
  Funeral services will be held at the late home, 620 W. Washington Ave, 
  Wednesday afternoon, the hour of which has not been determine, and burial will 
  be made at DuBois.
