                              Mr. Hughes
 COOLIDGE--- Arthur B. Hughes, 67, of Route 1, died Saturday at his residence 
after a lengthy illness.
 Services were conducted at 3:30pm Sunday at Kirkland-Croy-Hughes Home for 
Funerals by the Revs. William Cain and Billy Tillman with burial in Big Creek 
Cemetery.
 A retired farmer, he had lived in this area for 30 years, moving here from 
Moultrie. He was born in Colquitt County April 2, 1906. His parents were the 
late John Quincy Hughes and Annie Calhoun Hughes. His wife is the former Netta 
Mathis, who survives.
 Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Alvin R. Hughes, Merrillville and 
John Q. Hughes, St. Augustine, Fla; a sister, Earlean Whiten, Thomasville; two 
brothers, Levah Hughes, Bainbridge and Will Hughes, Willacoochee; six 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
