WANDA J. MOATS.
WANDA J. MOATS, 70, of Lynchburg (Highland County), died Wednesday, May
7, 1997, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Milford Center (Union County), the daughter
of GUY COUGHENOUR and GOLDIE EDITH (PERRY) COUGHENOUR.
She was a member of the VFW Post 9094 Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, ROGER L. MOATS II of Rio Rancho, N.M., and
RICHARD MOATS of Lynchburg; three daughters, VICKIE BURT and VANESSA SANDOVAL
of Albuquerque, N.M., and VALORIE MOATS of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five
grandchildren, RONI BURNSIDE, LEMURIA RUFFRANO, JULIA MOATS, ELIZABETH MOATS,
and RACHAEL LIMING.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
ROGER I. MOATS, on Feb. 24, 1989.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home
in Lynchburg. Doug Allen, minister of the Pearl Street Church of Christ, will
officiate. Burial will follow in the Paint Township Cemetery in London.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Recognition of her commitment to the VFW Auxiliary will be acknowledged by
Betty Beekman at 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW National Home, 3573 Waverly
Road South, Eaton Rapids, Mich 48827.
