From the 10 September 1974  issue of the Greenfield, Ohio "Greenfield Daily Times", page 6:

                              MEREDITH.
           Joseph Marion Meredith, 63, 646 Lyndon av, died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. 
in the Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville, N.C.
           Born July 20, 1911, in Greenfield, he was the son of Henry and 
Nancy Martin Meredith.  He was a farmer and florist assistant.
          His wife, the former Althia Lytle, died May 4, 1974.
          Survivors include his father, Henry Meredith, Buckingham Nursing 
Home; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Claudia) Skeen, Spring Lake, N. C., and two 
grandchildren.
          Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Anderson-Strueve Funeral 
Home, officiated by Rev. Robert K. Blaine.  Burial will follow in Greenfield 
Cemetery.
         Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
