Goods at Retail at Wholesale Prices

To the Public:

I offer for sale the Bankrupt stock recently purchased at receivers sale at
wholesale prices. Can save you money on anything you may need in the Dry Goods,
Clothing, Hats, Shoes, Hardware and Grocery line. These goods must be sold, so
come early and get your choice. Remember the place, S. N. Rushin’s old stand.

J. W. McCRARY.

New Postoffice

A new postoffice has recently been established at Blue’s old saw mill, now
Burts, known as Blueville. This will be a great convenience to the people
living in that neighborhood, as they have been laboring under serious
disadvantages in regard to mail facilities. We hope to get a good list of
subscribers among the people of that section.

The Cold Wave

The cold wave which broke upon this section last week was very severe, and
Friday was the coldest day in the south since the 9th and 10th of January, 1886.
The mercury dropped to about 18 or 20 perhaps lower in the open air, and the
day was intensely cold. Canned goods, pickles and even quart bottles of ink
froze hard. Stock where they were not provided with good stalls suffered much
from the cold. It is seldom we have such weather in the south, and from the
fact we had been having May weather for a month made the cold more penetrating.

A Dollar Saved, etc.

These are times when it becomes every one who has a dollar to spend to go where
he can get the most Goods for the money. So remember I can sell you at prices
that cannot be met. My stock is new, clean and well kept and in first-class
condition. The Goods must be sold, remember that and come to see me.

J. W. McCRARY.
