Personals

Mr. H.K. Lamb, of Russell County, Ala., is here visiting old friends. Mr. Lamb
lived in Marion County fifty-two years and was one of the pioneers of Buena
Vista. He came to the county in 1828 from Upson when a mere boy and his father
settled at Tazewell. He came here when the place was known as Pea Ridge and
worked for the removal of the county site from Tazewell. He was in the
mercantile business here and built the old Buena Vista House which was erected
soon after the town was laid out. Mr. Lamb is now a prosperous farmer of
Russell County, is getting very old but is yet active.
