Editor Receives Black Hand Letter

Editor Hirshburg, of the Marion County Patriot, has received one of the most
cowardly and fearful blackhand letters ever sent, handed or thrown an
individual in this state. We sincerely trust and cannot believe that the
person who wrote the letter would put into execution his terrible threats. We
sympathize with Bro. Hirshburg who must be troubled over the matter.

The following is the letter received by Bro. Hirshburg and below it his offer
of reward.

Buena Vista, Ga., Mar. 4, 1911

Mr. LeRoy Hirshburg:

We give you 30 days to be out of this town. We mean for you to sell the
printing office and be gone inside of thirty days. And I will advise you to be
gone for good or we will kill you. Can you read this, you s- of a b-, D- you,
get from here.

The Hirshburg Printing Company will pay $100 for the name of the writer, with
evidence, of the above letter, which reached the office Monday afternoon. The
letter is written on a sheet of letter paper taken from a 5c ink tablet, and
has many peculiarities.
