Entertainment Near Japanese

An occasion of artistic enjoyment was the reception given at the home of Mr. 
and Mrs. J.J. Hendricks on Saturday evening in honor of their niece, Miss Irene 
Chalkley, of Richland.  Misses Cora Hendricks and Irene Chalkley acting as 
hostess and received their guests in a most graceful manner.

Miss Chalkley was dressed in a beautiful white evening gown while Miss 
Hendricks wore a pretty silk mull of blue.

Those present were Misses Ida May and Eugenia Parker, Eva Chalkley, of Juniper, 
Dora, Lonie and Fannie May Johnson, Blanche Spear, of Tazewell, and Miss Martha 
Wood, of Paschal; Messrs. John Parker, Chandler Chalkley, Young Johnson, 
William and Grover Parker, Willie Blythe, Nelson Hendrick and Mr. and Mrs. 
William Goodroe.  Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Spear, of Tazewell.

Delicious cake and ice cream was served from 8 o’clock until 10.  Delightful 
music was rendered by Misses Martha Wood and Lonie Johnson.  It was one of the 
most pleasant social events of the season.
