Drops Dead as he Calls to see Young Woman

The death of John T. Evans, a well known citizen of Birmingham, Ala., which
occurred Sunday morning at Buena Vista, was under rather unusual circumstances,
according to reports of the sad occurrence.

Mr. Evans, it is said, had gone to Buena Vista to call upon a young lady with
whom he had been in correspondence for several months. A stranger there, Mr.
Evans told his mission to several young men, who volunteered to direct him to
the lady’s home. Arriving at the house, they pointed out the residence, when,
without a word Mr. Evans dropped dead upon the sidewalk.
