A Sad Accident.
From the Buena Vista Argus
On Thursday last, about one o’clock , Eddie Bray,
son of Mr. D. Q. Bray, near Tazewell, was thrown
from a wagon and killed. The circumstances as near
as we can gather, are as follows:

Mr. Bray sent his sons, Eddie and Barto, to the
plantation of Mr. W. Stewart, about three miles
south of Tazewell, for a wagon. While they were
hitching the mules to the wagon, they were very
skittish and seemed disposed to run. Barto would not
get on the wagon, and told Eddie the mules would run
away. But Eddie unconscious of the danger, sprang
into the wagon, before he could get seated, the
mules bounded off as fast as they could go. They ran
about one hundred yards and hit a stump in the
center of the road. The wagon was reversed,
throwing Eddie eight or ten feet on hard ground.
Barto ran as fast as he could to the spot, and when
he reached it, saw that his brother was almost dead.
He ran for his father, who immediately summoned a
physician. He was carried to his home where he
lingered until seven o’clock p.m., at which time he
died without a struggle.
