Death of Lelius Blue

This community was made sad last Saturday afternoon by the announcement of the 
death of Lelius Blue, which occurred at the home of his sister, Mrs. Holleman, 
after an illness of two weeks with catarrhal fever.

Lelius was a young man about twenty-three years of age, was very popular among 
all classes and had many friends who regret his untimely death.

The funeral took place at Ramah Sunday afternoon, and the funeral service was 
preached by Elder Ringer, pastor of that church.  There was a large crowd 
present, more than could get into the church.

He was a member of the local lodge of K. of P., and was buried with the honors 
of that order.  There were over fifty Knights in rank at this funeral, the 
first since the lodge was organized here, which attests his popularity in that 
organization.

Death is sad under all circumstances but it is doubly so when one is taken in 
the prime of young manhood.  Lelius will be missed from this community.

The family of Lelius Blue sincerely thank all who were so kind to, and 
considerate of him during his last illness, especially that noble band of 
Christian gentlemen, the Knights of Pythias, for their (word unreadable) and 
diacritical kindness, both during and subsequent to his illness; and no less 
mindful were they of the foregoing, by the young ladies and gentlemen in honor 
to hi memory, at their annual social function.
