Butler, GA – Juanita Braddy Benns, 90, of Butler, GA, died Thursday morning, 
January 6, 2011, at Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Butler 
United Methodist Church with Reverend Pam France and Reverend Charles Dennis 
officiating. Music was provided by Alice Neisler and Charles Dennis. The 
family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  
Interment followed in Butler Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Bob 
Cochran, Nick Giles, Bo Barrow, Henry Lee, Herbert Tante and Tom Cochran. 
Honorary pallbearers were the Men of Butler United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Benns was born September 26, 1920, in Woodland, GA, to John Rodgers and 
Nannie Mae Cox Braddy. She was the owner and operator of Benns Beauty Shop 
where she worked until her retirement two years ago.  She was a member of the 
Ladies Sunday School class at Butler United Methodist Church where she also 
taught Sunday school as well as Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the 
Taylor County Historical Society and had also worked at the Butler Herald 
office.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 
Charles E. Benns, Jr. and by a brother James A. Braddy.

She is survived by a son, Edward Benns and his wife, Margie, and one daughter, 
Ann Lee and husband Henry, all of Butler, GA; by four grandchildren, Walt 
Hendrix & Morgan, Ryan Benns &Jennifer, Reid Griffin & Laura, and Joey Matt & 
Pam. Seven Great Grandchildren also survive.

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of arrangements.
