Paul Durwood Anthony, Jr.
JUNE 1, 1939 ~ JANUARY 31, 2018 (AGE 78)

Mr. Paul Durwood Anthony, Jr., 78, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on 
Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on 
Saturday, February 3, 2018, at New Providence Baptist Church with Rev. David 
Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour 
prior to service time beginning at 12:00 PM. Active pallbearers will be Matt 
Jones, Mark Jones, Bill Ogden, Frank Hendricks, Rudy Killingsworth, and Chris 
Anthony.  Donald Anthony will be an Honorary Pallbearer.

Mr. Anthony was born in Columbus, GA, on June 1, 1939, to Paul Durwood 
Anthony, Sr. and Ruth Mae Teele Anthony. He was a member of New Providence 
Baptist Church and he loved the Lord.  Mr. Anthony was retired from Norfolk 
Southern Railroad where he had worked as a conductor.  He enjoyed hunting and 
fishing and was known for having the ability to fix anything.  Mr. Anthony 
loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  In addition to his 
parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Perry Jason Anthony and by 
siblings, Martha Anthony Horton, Edith Anthony Hammond, and Roger Timothy 
Anthony.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Anthony of Buena Vista, GA; by a son, Chris 
Anthony of Box Springs, GA; a daughter, Debra Anthony Spann (Chris) of Box 
Springs, GA; a step-son, Steve Hudson (Beverly) of Colorado; three sisters, 
Laverne Powell of Buena Vista, GA, Linda Miller (Thomas) of Buena Vista, GA, 
and Annette Fielder of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Anthony, Lacey 
Allmond (George), and Jeremiah Johnson (Jessica), and great-grandchildren, 
Jaelah Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Noah Allmond, and Luke Allmond. Several nieces 
and nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, GA, is in charge of the 
arrangements.
