Edward Albert Clayton (Clay) Adams
Richland-Clay Adams, 18, of Preston, GA, died Friday, December 7, 2007, at 
Phobe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, December 10, at 4 p.m. at 
Preston Cemetery in Preston, GA, with the Rev. Raymond Smith, the Rev. Robert 
Orr, and the Rev. Greg Kirk officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chase Jones, J.B. Jones, Logan Matthews, Michael Kirby, 
Ben Grimsley, Brian Roberts, Mitch Wills, Lane Hixon, Clint Powell, Jason 
Sizemore and Preston Funderburk. Honorary pallbearers will be Derick Goodroe, 
Luke Jernigan, Monty Howard, Kyle Long, David Chapman and Chris Jones.
Clay was born August 1, 1989 in Columbus, GA, the son of Terry and Polly 
Holloway Adams of Preston. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Morris 
Baptist Church in Morris GA. He was a May 2007 graduate of Marion County High 
School where he played baseball for four years and football for two years, was 
a member of the Future Farmers of America for four years and the Fellowship 
for Christian Athletes for two years. He was a Senior Superalative, was voted 
Class Favorite, Best All Around, and Most Popular. He recently completed the 
Electrical Linesman Program at South Georgia Technical College and worked for 
Albany Water, Gas, and Light.
He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Nikki and Robert Bryant of 
Cuthbert, GA, Missi and Spence Grimsley of Richland, and Crissi Adams of 
Preston; two nieces, Skyler Bryant and Addison Grimsley; grandparents Rev. and 
Mrs. Edward Holloway, Evelyn Mays, Albert Adams, and Mavis Sheets and Helen 
Adams; great-grandmother Edna Holloway; and by many loving aunts, uncles, and 
cousins.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Marion County High School
