Sybil Spooner Alday

DONALSONVILLE — Sybil Spooner Alday, 82, of Donalsonville, passed away Monday, 
January 6, 2003, in Donalsonville Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Spring Creek Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Luther Hastey and the Rev. Gerald Hollis officiating. Burial will 
follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday 
evening, January 7, 2003, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alday was born February 29, 1920, to the late Carl Spooner Sr. and Lola 
Widner Spooner. She was the wife of the late Everette "Bud" Alday, a loving 
mother and grandmother, and a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Alday leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Becky Barber and her 
husband Roy of Donalsonville; two sons, Joseph "Tuddy" Alday and his wife Robin 
of Donalsonville and Tommy Alday and his wife Donna of Donalsonville; two 
sisters, Mary Lynn and Louise Godby, both of Donalsonville; a brother, Don 
Spooner and his wife Joanna of Donalsonville; and five grandchildren, Nikki 
Barber, Joel Alday, Mandy (Russell) Barber, Zack Alday, and Ashley Alday. She 
was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Spooner Jr. and a sister, Euna Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Godby, Lewis Godby, Andy Alday, Danny Johnson, Tony 
Johnson, and David Johnson.
