Pat Armstrong

The funeral service for Pat Hancock Armstrong of Ocilla, who died
Wednesday, April 16, 1997
at Irwin County Hospital, was held Saturday, April 19 at Mt. Paron
Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien county. She was 55.
Rev. Charles Stevens officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service with
interment in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Canter, Huey Hess, Jr., Randy Fulford, Kevin
Boyles, David Hutto, and Russ Wynager. Honorary pallbearers were Robert
Clements, Donny Fletcher, Carlton Fletcher, James Steward, Jr., and Dane
Hutto.
The deceased was born June 16, 1941 in Macon to William Porter and
Lucy Elizabeth Stephens Canter. A homemaker and member of Waterloo
Baptist Church, Ms. Armstrong had lived in Irwin county most of her
life.
She is survived by one daughter: Darlene Hancock of
Ocilla; one son: Randy Hancock of Ocilla; one brother: Billy Canter of
Tifton; three sisters: Abbie Fletcher and Sherrall Clements, both of
Americus, and Barbara Boyles of Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Hancock.
Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
