He was born April 4, 1942 in Big Springs, Texas to the late Ben and Marcel 
Barnett Anderson. He was a Retired Civil Engineer with Sloan Contractors in 
Valdosta, an Army Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. 
He is survived by his wife Linda Jean Steen Anderson of Nashville; five sons, 
Claude Holland, Valdosta, Sammy Holland, Brady, Texas, Melvin Powell, 
Nashville, Jason Burns, Loganville, Randall Burns, Nashville; five daughters, 
Debra McCloud, Valdosta, Wanda Stewart, Junction, Texas, Karen Evans, Ingram, 
Texas, Peggy Ratliff, Lenox, Virginia Burns, Nashville; one brother, Bennie 
Lee Anderson, Big Springs, Texas two sisters, Suzanne Wilkerson, Fort Worth, 
Texas, Henrietta Cates, Ashton, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren. 
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 in the 
Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. The 
family will receive friends immediately prior to the service. - Lovein Funeral
