Leo Jacobs Altman, 78, of Tifton, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Coffee
Regional Medical Center in Douglas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Dale
Smith and the Rev. John Jacobs will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge
Cemetery. Taylor Pullen, Trey Mackie, Rex Hill, Glynn Smith, Carl Stalvey and
Corey Hill will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday
from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Altman was born on Jan. 27, 1934 in Berrien County and was the daughter
of George Amos Jacobs and Maggie Julia O'Neal Jacobs, both deceased. She was
also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Alvin Altman; as well as one
brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Valdee Jacobs. She was a retired nurse a
and had worked for Dr. Bill Bridges and Tifton Women's Clinic. She was a member o
of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Altman is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Betty Metts
Metts of Alapaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Trey Mackie of Newnan;
two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lucious and Louise Jacobs of Alapaha and Cleo
and Rachel Jacobs of Oveida, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Delores and
Vickers Smith of Ambrose; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ashli and Carl
Stalvey
Stalvey, Taylor Pullen, Rebecca Pullen; two great-grandchildren, John Haven Stalvey
Stalvey, and Autrey Stalvey; and several nieces and nephews.
