Died.--On Saturday last Mr. Jos. Haas, one of the old and highly respected
pioneer settlers of this county died at his home near this city. He had passed
the sixty-third mile-stone in life and had been an industrious, kind and
generous citizen, beloved by all who knew him and his friends were legion. He had
been feeling ill but for a short time and was confined to his bed but a day
and the best medical assistance of the state was summoned and found him
suffering with stomach troubles, but could render no assistance, and he passed away
surrounded by his family, whom he leaves in comfortable circumstances. The
funeral was held Tuesday and his remains interred from the Catholic church
followed to the grave by a large concourse of mourning relatives and friends.
