Pioneer, is dead

Resident of State 82 years
was born in County Mayo,
Ireland

Thomas Hyland, pioneer resident of Minnesota for 82 years
3616 Fourteenth Avenue South, following a short illness.  He was 85.
Born:July1845 in County Mayo,Ireland brought to St. Paul three years later.  
Parents: Patrick and Bridget Hyland
1856: the family went by ox team to Cedar Lake Township in Scott County
Eight years of service as a commissioner of Scott County.
Sons: John J. and 
      Harry E. of Minneapolis; 
      Patrick J. of Los Angeles, Calif; 
      Thomas I., of Vallejo, Calif (my grandfather) 
      Frank L., of Oakland, Calif

Daughters:Mrs. Martin J. Dougherty and 
          Miss Julia G. Hyland of Minneapolis
          Mrs Frank P. Webb and
          Mrs. Patrick O'Keefe of St. Paul.
Funeral services: Church of the Incarnation 
Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery.
