         MRS LILLIAN SMITH
   Mrs. Lillian McInnis Smith, sister of Mrs.
F. A. Hoyt and well known in St. Cloud where
she has been a frequent visitor, died early
Sunday morning in St. Paul after being ill 
for some time.
   The funeral will be held at the former
McInnis home in Tower.
   Mrs. Smith was born November 12, 1874, in
Marquette, Michigan, daughter of Neil McInnis,
prominent pioneer, and Mrs. McInnis. The
family moved to Tower in 1884. Mrs. Smith was
graduated from St. Joseph's academy in St.
Paul and in 1896 was married. She lived in
Eveleth and in 1910 moved to St. Paul. She
has been assistant state printer for 16 years.
An only child, Marcella Smith Finnegan, died
in 1934. Mrs. Hoyt is the only survivor.
