Pipestone County Star, April 20, 1928:

"Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothea Kristine Sorensen will be

held at Ruthton tomorrow afternoon at the home and at the Danish

church. Mrs. Sorensen passed away Tuesday evening, April 10.

Dorothea Kristine Nelson was born in Denmark December 22, 1862, and

she grew up and was married at that place. She emigrated to America

where, after the death of her first husband, Mr. Swanson (ed. note:

Marius Swendsen), she married again to Paul Sorensen. She has lived

for many years a happy and useful life in Ruthton until five weeks

ago when she had the misforune to fall on the ice, breaking her leg.

Since that time she has been confined to her home and after five

weeks of suffering, she passed away there. She is survived by her

husband, Paul Sorensen, two sons, Adolph and Nels, and two

daughters, Mrs. F. W. Ziegler and Mrs. Wm. Udelhoven."
