FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: December 2005 ========================================================================= Pipestone Cnty 1924 - Georgianna Catherine Engbarth - 2005 Georgianna Catherine Engbart was born on November 21, 1925, to Ferrill and Irene (Eggers) Nece in Pipestone, Minnesota. As a small child, she moved with her parents to Ihlen, Minnesota; and at the age of five, she moved with her parents to the State of Washington. When her mother died two years later, Georgianna returned to Minnesota and lived with her relatives on a farm near Pipestone. She attended elementary school in Ihlen, Jasper, Pipestone and Woodstock and then high school in Pipestone for two years. Upon completion of her education, she worked for the Woodstock Telephone Company. On September 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to John Engbarth at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed near Woodstock. In 1951, they moved to a farm by Ward, South Dakota. Four years later, they moved to a farm by Woodstock where they lived and farmed until their retirement in 1996. At that time, they moved to Lake Wilson, Minnesota. In July, 2003, Georgianna became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities in Pipestone. On October 22, 2005, she was transferred to the Ashton Care Center in Pipestone where she remained until her death on Friday, December 9, 2005, at the age of 80. Georgianna was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was also a member of the St. Martin CCW. She loved spending time with her family and friends especially those years when she was raising her children. In her later years, Georgianna enjoyed surrounding herself with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For 17 years, she wrote a column for the Pipestone County Star and the Ruthton Gazette called "On Top of the Buffalo Ridge" for Woodstock and the surrounding vicinity. She enjoyed bowling and bowled on leagues in Pipestone and Ruthton. She also liked to crochet, spend time in her flower garden, and go dancing. She is lovingly remembered by her nine children: Sharon Nelson and her husband Arden, Balaton, MN; Constance "Connie" Price and her husband Larry, Spring, TX Marlis Tiedeman and her husband Vern, Kinney, MN; John "Jack" Engbarth and his wife Peggy, Lincolnton, NC; William "Bill" Engbarth and his wife Carolyn, Riverside, CA; Patrick "Pat" Engbarth and his wife Cindy, Ruthton, MN; Mary DeKam, Harrogate, TN; Mark Engbarth and his wife Lynette, Lake Wilson, MN; and Alfred "Butch" Engbarth and his wife Karen, Magnolia, TX; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; one brother Darwin Nece, Marshall, MN; two half-brothers: Jerry Nece, San Bernardino, CA, and Jay Nece and his wife Esther, Des Moines, IA; and two half-sisters, Diane Baalman, Simi Valley, CA, and Linda Phillips, Myrtle Beach, SC; three special cousins: Ione Rae, Vi Bucher, and Myrna "Pete" Carlson, all from Pipestone, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband John; a son Michael; two grandsons: Billy and Chad; her parents; her step-mother Clasta Nece; three brothers: Darrell, Harry and Dale; one half-brother Danny; and one half-sister, Marlis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., both at the church.
