Peter Bobendrier, 96, of Pipestone, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at the 

Pipestone County Medical Center.

 

Born Sept. 8, 1920, in Frankford Township, Wright County, he was the 

son of John and Louise Briere Bobendrier.  He married Bernice Milless 

June 21, 1941.

 

He grew up in Frankford Township, where he attended Crow River School.  

Following his education, he helped on the family farm.  After marriage 

the couple lived and farmed in Frankford County until 1943, when they 

moved to Otsego Township and continued farming.  IN 1978, they moved 

to Pipestone County.  He was a self-employed farmer all his life.  

On Oct. 26, 2005, he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities 

of Pipestone.  He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, Pipestone.  

He was a member of the Minnesota Sheep Breeders Association, where he 

served as president, and the Minnesota Hampshire Sheep Association.  

In 1998, he received an award at the Minnesota State Fair for his 75 

years of showing sheep.

 

Surviving are his wife; two sons, James (Sharon) Bobendrier, Jasper; and 

Charles (Janice) Bobendrier, Pipestone; eight grandchildren, and 11 

great grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 

p.m at St. Leo Catholic Church.

 

The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Leo Catholic Church.  Burial 

will follow in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.

 

Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
