Ronald W. Walls, 65, dies



Ronald W. Walls, 65, of Champlin, MN passed away Saturday, November 13, 

2004. Born in Bartlesville, OK on February 6, 1939, he initially came to 

Ely by way of the Charles Sommers National High Adventure Boy Scout Canoe 

Base in Ely, and earned an Eagle Scout award there. He was a graduate of 

Oklahoma State University, taught English and Chemistry; received Law 

Degree at the University of MN, practiced law in Ely where he also served 

as City Attorney for a period of time. He co-authored the Dayton-Walls 

legislation for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in 1978. He held a 

Judicial appointment in St. Louis County District Court. He was later the 

co-owner of Walls & Walls, Federal Court reporting firm. 



Survived by his wife Sandra Moberg Walls, sons: Andrew of Champlin, Peter 

of Blaine, Christopher (wife, Sheila) of St. Paul, daughter Jennie Ivezic 

(husband, Steve) of Ely; mother, Genevieve Walls; brothers, Gregg 

(Vicki), Philip (Rachel), Richard (Sherri); and sisters, Patty (Darden) 

Powers; Donna (Dean) Fitzgerald and Linda (Tim) Fields; and many uncles, 

aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Ron will be missed 

deeply. Preceded in death by his father Dr. William Walls; brothers, 

William Larry and Hugh Walls. 



Memorial Service was held Thursday, Nov. 18 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Private 

interment, Fort Snelling Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart 

Association, North Hennepin Mediation Program, Voyageur Outward Bound 

School.
