Mollie Spreitzer, 91, of Ely dies

Mollie Spreitzer, 91, of Ely died Monday, November 22, 2004 in the Ely 
Bloomenson Nursing Home. She was born on March 10, 1913 to Joseph and 
Katherine (Judnich) Spreitzer in Ely. She attended Ely schools. Mollie 
was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She was an avid reader 
and enjoyed playing Scrabble and solving crossword puzzles. She was a 
secretary for KSKJ Lodge 203 until it merged with Lodge 72. She crocheted 
lap afghans for the nursing home activities bazaars. 

She is survived by one brother, Bernard of Gainsville, GA; five sisters: 
Katherine Spreitzer and Josephine (Bernard) Pruse of Ely; Christine Knott, 
Lomita, CA; Margaret Planton, Bradley, IL; Genevieve Heriford, Fort Walton 
Beach, FL; numerous nieces and nephews. Mollie was preceded in death by 
her parents, Joseph and Katherine, three brothers and four sisters. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 1 p.m. 
at Kerntz Brothers Funeral Chapel in Ely. Monsignor Bernard Popesh will 
officiate. Burial will be in the Ely Cemetery.
