Eslie John Pratt Sr., 84, of Two Harbors, dies



  Eslie John Pratt Sr., 84, of Two Harbors, died Friday, April 8, 2005 

in the Sunrise Home in Two Harbors.

  He was born Nov. 19, 1920 to Neal and Carrie (Shea) Pratt in Wauknabo 

Township in Aitkin County.

  After graduating from high school in Aitkin, Eslie joined the National 

Guard in Oct. of 1941, and was shipped overseas after the bombing of Pearl 

Harbor. He was an M.P. in the Red Bull Division for the United States Army, 

serving overseas until July 5, 1945.

  Eslie returned to Aitkin County, where he married June Hendrickson on 

April 22, 1946. After living in various locations for several years, they 

settled in Two Harbors.

  Eslie worked in the maintenance trade for Reserve Mining for 27 years, 

retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1463, VFW 

4454, and the American Legion 109.

  Eslie loved his family, and enjoyed visiting with people, walking, and 

was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Paula in 1993; 

grandchildren, Michaele and Quinn Olson; brothers, Melvin, Marvin, Calvin, 

and James; and sisters, Vera and Elma.

  Eslie is survived by his wife of 58 years, June of Two Harbors; sons, 

Eslie Jr. (Cheryl) of Sophia, NC; and Cass (Laralee) of Fairborn, OH; 

daughters, Sherry (Ricky) Farlow, and Vera Olson, both of Brimson, MN; 

brother, Raymond (Marge) of Aitkin, MN; grandsons, Matthew (Michelle) 

Carlson of Two Harbors, Benjamin and Clayton Pratt of Embarrass, James 

and Joseph Pratt of Minneapolis, Cass Jr. of OH, and Connor Pratt of NC; 

granddaughters, Caitlin Aune of Two Harbors, and Lauren and Leslie Brown 

of NC; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Zane Carlson of Two Harbors, and 

Tatum and Talon Pratt of Embarrass; and many nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 12, in Two Harbors. 

Burial at Lakeview Cemetery.
