William “Bill” E. Maki, 50, of Babbitt dies



  William “Bill” E. Maki, 50, of Babbitt died Wednesday, April 27, 2005.

  He was born on August 4, 1954 to William Mathew and Bertha Maki in Ely. 

Bill graduated from Ely Memorial High School class of 1974. He worked at 

the crusher for Reserve Mining Company. Later he owned and operated Maki’s 

Wood, providing firewood to the public.

  Bill joined Good Shepard Lutheran Church with his mother, Bertha, on 

February 5, 1984. He was very well known and liked around Babbitt. One 

of Bill’s favorite things was to drive his truck between Babbitt, Embarrass 

and Virginia.

  He is survived by an aunt, Eilah Maki of Whetherford, TX and four cousins: 

James (Helen) Koski of Ely, Pam (Walter) Hatcher of Hurst, TX, Kay (Greg) 

Fehrenkamp of Pasadena, TX, and Becky (Terry) Franzen of Minneapolis.

  Bill was preceded in death by his father, William in 1975 and his mother, 

Bertha in 1988.

  Memorial services will held on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the 

Evangelical Lutheran Church in Babbitt. Reverend Charles Barnes will 

officiate.
