Hilma O. Kovach, 91, of Ely dies



  Hilma O. Kovach, 91, of Ely died Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Ely 

Bloomenson Nursing Home.

  She was born on Nov. 14, 1915, at Fall Lake to Arvid and Karoliina 

(Harju) Lundein and had been a life long Ely resident.

  Hilma was a graduate of Ely Memorial High School and worked in the family 

minnow business.

  She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and American Fraternal 

Union.

  Survivors include one sister, Edith (John) Payla of St. Anthony, MN; one 

brother, Archie (Catherine) Lundein of Babbitt; one sister-in-law, Elsie 

Lundein of Grand Marais; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Kovach Jr.; one 

sister Caroline and her husband Stan Perushek; three brothers, Emil and 

Helen Lundein, William and Jennie Lundein and Hjalmer Lundein.

  A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Anthony's Catholic 

Church in Ely. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in 

Minneapolis.
