Nick N. Crawford Sr., 70, dies


Nick N. Crawford Sr., 70, Ridgeland, Mississippi, formerly of Ely, 
retired general contractor/business owner, born March 25,1934 to Elmer 
and Lucy Crawford of Lennox, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on 
Monday, November 15, 2004 surrounded by his family at Baptist Medical 
Center, Jackson, MS. 

Former owner of Superior Forest Resort, Crawford and Sons Construction 
and Crawford Bus Lines in Ely. Nick, a naval veteran of the Korean war 
serving aboard the USS Wasp from 1952 to 1956, and his family moved to 
the Brookhaven/Jackson, MS area in 1980 from Ely. He has the remaining 
members of his family waiting to join him in glory. 

His wife of 47 1/2 years Claudette, his sons and daughters-in-law James 
(Jim '76) and Kathie Crawford of Brookhaven, Edward (Ed '77) and Debi 
Crawford of Boaz, AL, Nickie (Nick Jr) and Rhonda Crawford of Ridgeland 
and Claude (Rusty) and Missy Crawford of Mendenhall. One older sister 
Mary Hopkins of Hobart, IN; one younger brother Louis F. Crawford of 
Crete, IL and one younger sister Sharon Kawohl of Hobart, IN. 
Grandchildren Chris and James Crawford Huffman, Thomas, Brandon, Claudia, 
Terri-Lynn, Justin, Bethany, Ian, and Delaney Crawford, Travis Olson; two 
great grandchildren, Christian and Jaylen and a host of nieces and 
nephews that loved him dearly. 

Proceeding him in glory are his parents and one older sister Ruth Koch. 
Funeral service were held at Southside Assembly of God in Jackson on 
Wednesday, November 17, 2004. Burial at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland.
